VOLTRA is a dark hybrid synthesizer for techno, cinematic electronic music and modern sound design. Analog-style oscillators, original wavetables, a physical Resonator engine, deep modulation, a performance sequencer, Motion Filter and a full FX rack live inside one focused macOS instrument.

01 — ENGINE

A hybrid engine with a physical surface.

Two analog-style oscillators with hard sync, fold and ring modulation, plus a sub oscillator and a White/Pink/Blue noise generator, stay visible on one instrument panel.

02 — DIGITAL ENGINE

A physical Resonator, next to original wavetables.

The Digital Engine slot switches between Wavetable and Resonator. Resonator is new in 1.0.1: a tonal body with mode, excite, material, damping and a live cymatic visual reacting to the sound in real time.

03 — FILTERS / ENVELOPES

Eight filter models, four envelope pages.

LP24, LP12, BP, HP, Notch, Comb, Analog and ZDF cover acid lines, dark techno basses, comb textures and cinematic sweeps. Amp, Filter, Aux and ENV envelopes shape everything from short stabs to multi-stage transitions.

04 — MODULATION

Modulation that reads on the instrument.

Drag LFOs and envelopes straight onto a knob, build deeper routes in the Matrix with Smart Routes and Patch Mutate, and let Chaos add bounded, controlled unpredictability. Static halos show routing; live arcs show motion.

05 — FX

A complete FX chain, plus a dedicated Motion Filter.

Drive, Bitcrusher, Chorus, Delay, Reverb, Compressor, Pump, EQ, Phaser, Flanger, Limiter and Shifter form a complete built-in chain. Motion Filter sits alongside it as its own animated processor with a large visual display.

06 — SEQUENCING

A 32-step sequencer that can also just play notes.

The arpeggiator, Scale tools and a 32-step sequencer share the same rhythmic engine. Send Notes turns the sequencer into a note generator; Mod Source keeps the same steps available as modulation.

238 factory presets plus a free 22-preset expansion.

The 1.0.1 Factory bank covers driving techno sequences, industrial bass, cinematic atmospheres, resonator tones, bleep techno, drones, impacts, risers, percussion, dub chords, acid and sci-fi bleeps. Factory Expansion 01 adds 22 more presets from the internal Store, for 260 total once installed.

INSTALL

Install VOLTRA safely on macOS.

VOLTRA 1.0.1 ships as VST3, AU and standalone for macOS 11.0 or later. Run the package installer, open the app once, and you're set.

Package installer

Open the VOLTRA 1.0.1 DMG and run Install VOLTRA.pkg.

Follow the macOS installer.

Open the standalone app once, then rescan plug-ins in your DAW if needed.

Launch /Applications/VOLTRA.app for standalone use.
